Jonathan is a recently appointed consultant in cardiothoracic anaesthesia and critical care at James Cook University Hospital in Middlesbrough. Having trained in the West Midlands, Northeast and Papworth, he has developed his professional interests to include: cardiac critical care, brain protection during DHCA, adult resuscitation and medical education. When not at work, he can often be found playing one of his many musical instruments.

Andy is an ST7 in anaesthetics in the Northern Deanery. After graduating from Sheffield Medical school he then went about touring the hospitals in the North of England in the pursuit of ‘training’. Whilst on his travels he developed an interest in Cardiac anaesthesia and regional anaesthesia, a combination which often leaves a puzzled look on peoples faces. When not in work he can usually be found on his mountain bike in the hills, desperately attempting, usually unsuccessfully, to avoid the trees. When not in the hills he can be found in his garage attempting to teach his young daughter how to fix his bike with the latest tool he’s bought.

He has worked as a cardiothoracic anaesthetist and intensive care consultant for over 20 years and is currently Clinical Supervisor to the anaesthetic trainees. His major interest is riding bikes,
Mike graduated from London but after a few years moving around, pursuing training in anaesthesia and medicine, set up home in North Yorkshire. He has worked as a cardiothoracic anaesthetist and intensive care consultant for over 20 years and is currently Clinical Supervisor to the anaesthetic trainees. His major interest is riding bikes, preferably around the North York Moors with his club mates, but he is also working hard at becoming a competent pianist by the time he retires.

Adrian is a consultant in cardiothoracic anaesthesia and critical care at James Cook University Hospital in Middlesbrough. He is a military academic anaesthetist with interests in thoracic trauma and high altitude environments with research interests centering on adaptation to high altitudes and strategies that may enable troop deployment at short notice to altitude. He completed undergraduate training at Leeds University Medical school and anaesthesia training in Plymouth, Portsmouth, Southampton, Sheffield, London and Sydney.

Dr Ian Hunter is a consultant in general anaesthesia & critical care medicine at James Cook University Hospital in Middlesbrough. He is the Trust lead for simulation and human factors and has particular interests in the efficacy of in-situ simulation. His clinical interests surround traumatic brain injury management on critical care. He is also steadily building an army of simulation models.
